Dante Caravaggio | Managing Partner

Dante Caravaggio has a rich professional history comprised of more than thirty years as an executive, technical engineering, and sales. Prior to joining Alexandria VMA Capital, Dante served as Senior Vice President of the Hydrocarbons Americas group for KBR a full-service engineering firm out of Houston, TX. Responsible for KBR's growth in the Americas, his focus was the Hydrocarbons Industry, leading the group in LNG, Ammonia, Refining, Chemicals, Upstream, Midstream, and Offshore. 

Dante also served as Executive Vice President and Global Business Development Director of Parsons Industrial, a primary business unit of Parsons Corporation, a global engineering, construction, technical, and management services firm headquartered in Pasadena, California, with 14,000+ employees and revenues exceeding $3 billion. Parsons Industrial provides customers worldwide with full-service engineering, construction, and management services in environmental, water, oil and gas, utilities, and infrastructure for industrial clients.

 

Prior to re-joining Parsons in 2014, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Jacobs Engineering Group, most recently as Senior Vice President of Global Heavy Process Sales where he was responsible for sales in Canada, Europe, India, the Middle East, South America, and the United States. He previously worked for Parsons from 1988–1996 managing projects in upstream and downstream oil and gas in Korea, Kuwait, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.

Dante is a registered professional engineer in the state of California, and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. 

Malvina Lerma | Board Member

Malvina Lerma is the Engineering Manager for Interact, providing permitting, compliance, facility and well engineering, construction project management, and field service personnel to the oil and gas industry. 

She has served as Business Development Manager for Orchard E&P and as president and Board of Directors member for Orchard Petroleum, Inc (OPI). Her duties included oversight of all exploration and development activities resulting in an increase in EBITDA of 25x from 2008 to 2011, and growth in return on capital from less than 1% to 119% over the same period.

Her technical background includes serving as Engineering/Drilling Manager for OPI and teaching Drilling Engineering graduate and undergraduate courses for University of Southern California as well as Drilling Workshops for PTTC and SPE.

She is the Founder of Troy Consulting which provides services to major and independent oil companies in the SoCal area. Projects included the Subsea Well Abandonment Rig Sharing Project (SWARS), fracturing, drilling, waterflooding, completing, recompleting, and providing reservoir engineering support for numerous SoCal E&P companies.

From 1982-1990, Malvina was a Chevron Wellsite supervisor, Drilling/Reservoir Engineer and Development Planning Engineer for numerous SoCal oil fields. She also taught numerous economics, writing, and other basic classes for Chevron employees and served on SPE's California Coastal Chapter Officers Board. 

Professional Engineering License in Petroleum Engineering in California since 1987. 

Jesse Allen | Board Member

Jesse Allen is an experienced petroleum engineer with 20+ years of experience and expertise in production and completion operations. 

Jesse served as Chesapeake's Senior Asset Manager, Production Engineering Supervisor, and Engineering Advisor. He was accountable for functional engineering and operations in the Barnett Shale in the Fort Worth Basin, the Mississippi Lime, and the Eagle Ford. He was also the VP of Engineering for Opal Energy and managed all engineering and technical aspects within the company focused on completion, reservoir and
operations engineering. His experience also includes being a Senior Completion Engineer for Offshore Gulf of Mexico for BP Amoco Corp.

Jesse is a Professional Engineer in Texas and holds a Petroleum Engineering Degree from Texas Tech.

Paul Bonifas | Board Member

Paul Bonifas, M.B.A., is a Petroleum Engineering consultant working for the highly regarded Rocky Mountain Petroleum firm Goolsby, Finley, and Associates. His expertise includes business development, project management, exploration and development projects, simulation modeling, economic modeling, AFE generation, regulatory permit applications, decline curve analysis (DCA), and petroleum reserves estimations.

 

Paul worked as a Reservoir Engineer for Encana Oil & Gas where he oversaw a $3.3MM recompletion program of high-pressure, high-temperature wells in East Texas' Deep Bossier Field. He also worked as a cased-hole wireline field engineer in the Bakken for Weatherford. As a mining engineer for Cameco Resources, he was project manager for an insitu-leaching energy project. 

Paul consults for various energy industries providing engineering and economic evaluations. He has worked in Corporate Development, Finance, and Engineering for an industrial energy contractor in Pittsburgh, PA.

 

A recipient of a National Science Foundation (NSF) fellowship, Paul holds a B.S. in Chemical engineering, an M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering, and an M.B.A. from the University of Wyoming.

Alexander Caravaggio | Board Member

Alex Caravaggio is a Petroleum Engineer with experience in both E&P and Midstream organizations.

 

Alex works for Occidental Petroleum (previously Anadarko Petroleum) where he has experience in production engineering, workover operations (plug and abandonments, cement remediation, safety preps), facility engineering and midstream operations. Alex has worked primarily in the DJ Basin in Colorado.

 

Alex holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Technological University. 

Shay Roehm | Director

Shay Roehm, JD, PMP, is a Project Manager and technology solution design specialist with 20+ years of experience in the delivery of innovative and transformative projects.

 

In 2011, Shay founded Media Arts, an end-to-end technology solutions organization, followed by the establishment of Catalyst AT in 2016, which is focused on providing aerial data collection, processing, and analytic services. Shay has led teams in the delivery of multi-million dollar projects, including leading technical teams in the development and transformation of technology platforms for organizations that include The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Burbank Airport, Metrolink, CADOT, The City of Los Angeles, and The City of Anaheim among many others.

Craig Crawford | Director

Craig Crawford has 30+ years of experience leading and managing companies and business units in the oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, mining and technology (software) industries.

 

Craig founded and too public The Project Group, Inc., a leading Project Management consultancy, Texas Gulf Energy Inc.,  and EnergyTek Corp. He is very familiar with the processes and systems for the management of business and small to large ($1 billion plus) projects. Craig is a talented troubleshooter for companies, business units and projects with issues. 

He is an experienced leader, officer and board member of public companies in the project management, technology, mining and oil and gas industries. Craig specializes in Win-Win negotiation as well as transforming teams into safe, high performance business units. He is an effective team builder with a history of safety leadership in the construction services industry.
